What is micro current therapy?
Micro current facial treatment isn't exactly new. The history of this technique dates as far back as the 1800s but it wasn't until the 1990s that aestheticians made micro current machines available in their spas and started recommending them to clients. Over time, the face lift machines found their way into high-end salons, spas and cosmetic clinics all over the world. Currently, it is used in top spas and medical offices for facial toning, firming and contouring of ageing skin.
How does it work?
Simply put, micro current stimulates the face. The process sends soft and gentle waves through the skin, tissues and down to the facial muscles. It has been shown to stimulate the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) which drives the creation of key structural proteins such as elastin and collagen.
The increase of ATP also energises the facial muscles, similar to how physical exercise energises the bodies' muscles. Facial muscles are directly connected to the skin, so when they're energised, the result is a lifted and awakened appearance.
